Dear ABC Student Group Leaders, 

It is my pleasure to announce additional financial support available to student groups via the Undergraduate Community Initiative: https://uci.columbia.edu/community-engagement-mini-grants. Up to $1500 can be received to fund either existing or new events on campus, open to all CUID holders. These funds are considered additional student group revenue! To be eligible for the Spring 2024 semester, your event must take place on or before April 29, 2024.   

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your governing board president over the past academic year. Student groups have for me provided places called “home.” It has been a privilege to stand as a witness to your similar experiences. 

Together with the rest of the ABC 2023-2024 board, I am proud of our accomplishments:

1.] receiving the largest F@CU allocation in ABC’s history.

2.] advocating for and receiving a $20,000 co-sponsorship fund supplement from the four student councils. 

3.] passing ABC’s first-ever conflict of interest disclosure policy

4.] creating the ABC YouTube playlist, including videos related to LionLink usage and fund / trial balance report interpretation [new last-day video-drop: https://youtu.be/EQmYx1YVlQA?si=DWemYA7eYa8j6FBg

5.] development and publication of the Interim ABC Judiciary Policy

6.] updates to the ABC spending guidelines

7.] rollout of Columbia SecurePay and Bedework for student groups

8.] revisions to the ABC Constitution, including updates to the New Group Recognition process & the implementation of a mandatory co-sponsorship pool

9.] completion of fall New Group Recognition, recommending the Columbia Medical Review, Columbia University Music Industry Club, Columbia University Double Exposure, Run Columbia, and the Student Union For Sustainable Development for recognition

10.] reinstating ABC group’s ability to book meeting spaces on Barnard’s campus

11.] establishment of the ABC archives, including access to internal documents and personal correspondences 

12.] easing access to the ABC email list, via the Columbia ListSERV system

13.] promotion of LionLink as a centralized portal for student group information ; the receipt of 50+ student group updates and 30+ events

14.] the rollout of our first annual Activities Day Sheet, passed out during the Activities Fair

15.] first-ever Undergraduate Student Life Administration & Planning training event

16.] advocating for an additional $70,000 increase to the Facilities Fund, to a total amount of $195,000 to fund student group programming

17.] beginning ABC-Governing Board at Barnard collaborative efforts

18.] rollout of the standardized New Group Recognition form across governing boards 

19.] revitalization of Heritage Months, including the first post-COVID Black & LatinX Heritage Months

20.] implementation of ABC Representative Training, for an even stronger 2024-2025 board!
