Dear ABC Student Group Leaders,

During the town hall, I described a vote I took 2.5 years ago to establish the Columbia University Science Olympiad - and the joy I experienced volunteering for the first time 2.5 weeks ago during the annual Columbia University Science Olympiad competition.

Serving as a representative, I’ve felt challenged by many questions: how do we define our priorities as a community? What does it mean to develop an inclusive group? How do we best serve our constituents? These questions grasp at the heart of advocacy, community, and service.

Every day I learn about another heartwarming venture- from the existence of the CU Records Studio, the advocacy of Mālama Hawai'i in response to the August Maui wildfires, and the accessible pre-professional opportunities provided by the Pre-Law Society

If you are excited to advocate, wish to build community, or serve any of our 185 student organizations doing the same, please run for the ABC board, according to the timeline below.

I look forward to receiving your candidate filings by tomorrow at 11:59 p.m. EDT!

Sincerely,

Theodore M. Nelson

ABC President
